Our first social media campaign
14/03/12

On February 29th 2012, Yolk Recruitment launched its first social media campaign. The basic concept was that a leap year comes only once every four years yet we do nothing, nothing, to celebrate it or make the most of the extra day which is way we came up with 29 things to do and learn this leap year.
The idea
It all started a week before; we were talking in the Yolk office about whether we should do something special for the day. Should we dedicated to training or maybe networking rather than just doing the same old thing. We then started to come up with a few challenges to make the day more fun. As the week went on we developed our list of 29 things we thought we're possible to do in just a day but we needed some help which is why we started speaking to our clients, suppliers and contacts. The positive response we got inspired us take 29 things to the next level and build a microsite for 29 things and launch it as a full social media campaign.
The Result
We managed to get 16 of the 29 done with some help from Chepstow races, Boulders Climbing Centre, Ben Parsons, Career Cake, Jags Catering, Capital Law, Traveline Tim and many others helped by tweeting about it.
We got out of the office for a change and shot some videos of people attempting world records and juggling on the street.
Here are our favourite things from the day.
Mo hugging a traffic warden
Ella attempting to break the world cracker eating record outside the Yolk Office.
Duncan invents the instant cappuccino.
