McArthurGlen’s Bridgend Designer Outlet Launches First Ever Workwear Week

This July will see McArthurGlen’s Bridgend Designer Outlet join forces with women’s charity Dress For Success London to launch theUK’s first-ever official Workwear Week. 

Running from the 2nd - 8th July, McArthurGlen’s Bridgend and Dress For Success London will work together to host a pop-up panel including expert recruitment advisors from Yolk Recruitment, Style Consultant, Louise Evans, and Dress For Success London volunteers. Local women can visit the panel in confidence and the exclusive pop-up services are entirely complimentary.

Dress For Success London, a not-for-profit organisation founded inNew Yorkin 1997, provide professional attire and career consultations to help women thrive in work and in life. McArthurGlen’s Workwear Week will see Dress For Success London tour itsUKcentres, including Bridgend, in a bid to help women with any work related matters they wish to address. Whether returning to the work place from motherhood, preparing for an important interview or looking to re-appraise everyday office style, the panel will be on hand to offer ‘dress to impress’ fashion advice and bespoke career guidance across all McArthurGlenUKoutlets.  

Louise Evans, Style Consultant at McArthurGlen’s Bridgend Designer Outlet says; “Women spend on average 34 hours per week* in the workplace so it is essential that they look and feel great. Appearance can have a major impact on self-esteem and with so many great brands in our centre offering amazing workwear staples; we wanted to dedicate a whole week to helping women win in the work place.” 

On top of the usual 60% less found across the centre on great brands such as Karen Millen, Phase Eight, Jaeger, and French Connection, Workwear Week will see shoppers treated to exclusive discounts. 

Deleyth Evans, Chief Executive of Dress For Success London, says; “We are thrilled to be working with McArthurGlen’s Bridgend Designer Outlet to help spread the Dress For Success message throughoutWales.  We dress more than 1,000 women a year in high quality clothes donated by retailers and professional women. Following a consultation with Dress For Success, one in two women go on to succeed at their interview and are keen to spread awareness of our work by taking Dress For Success on tour with McArthurGlen – to help inspire other women across the UK.” 

During the week Yolk Recruitment's Mohammed Ahmed will be running workshops aimed at getting the long term unemployed back into work. Mo already runs several successful workshops inCardiff and will be offering his expertise in this field during Workwear Week. "I strongly believe in the education of jobseekers to help them get back into work." says Mohammed Ahmed, Yolk IT Divisional Manager. "One of the reasons for my successes has been the advice I have received from others over the years. I have been fortunate that some amazing people took the time to share their knowledge and experience with me and I was taught to give back by sharing this knowledge with others."

Workwear Week will take place in McArthurGlen’s Bridgend Designer Outlet from the 2nd – 8th July.
