 International Business Development Manager – EMEA

 The Client

A leading global designer and manufacturer of lightweight communications devices for business and consumer markets. A highly profitable and desirable company to work for. This is a senior, stand-alone role, integral to maintaining growth for our client, reporting directly into the Managing Director EMEA. Whilst this role currently has no direct reports, the job holder will play a key role in the wider GIA team and the EMEA Senior Management Team, having direct responsibility for revenue generation. This role will initially share an admin resource. The location for this role will be flexible, but easy access to an international airport is essential as frequent international travel is integral to this role.

 Responsibilities

  • Defining strategies for the development of Global / International Accounts for EMEA
  • Identifying and prioritizing target GIA’s and managing a handful of GIA’s
  • Define and implement sales and offering’s with other GIA geography managers (especially US)
  • Set and implement, with the Partner Manager, the go-to-market models for GIA (customer facing partners and distributors)
  • Develop and enhance effective Global Opportunity Management Processes (process, team, resources, tools etc).
  • Implement a consistent ‘Framework’ to manage the global and pan-EMEA bids processes from start to finish (pre-agreed standard templates / programmes for tender processes).
  • Coaching the GIA sales organisations at pan-EMEA / global levels, and mobilising key supporting functions (Finance/Pricing, Operations and NPI Engineering
  • Guide GIA development via best practice in Account Plans
  • Organize regular (monthly/quarterly) regional GIA practice development sessions, quarterly business reviews and half-yearly planning and development sessions

 Experience Required

  • Extensive senior-level corporate sales / business development experience in an international environment, using a structured and systems facilitated approach to sales
  • Project management experience, ideally within a matrix structure
  • Experience in submitting successful bids through tendering processes
  • A high level of business acumen and financial awareness
  • Exceptional people management, influencing and presentation skills
  • Ability to work throughout a broad cross-section of society
  • An affinity with technology products
  • Ideally Business fluency in English and one other European language

Desirable

  • A Basic knowledge of Marketing principles / techniques
  • Affinity with Unified Communications / Smarter Working concepts
  • Experience of using salesforce.com would be advantageous
  • Any additional European languages would be useful
