The Client

Our client is a national Leisure Organisation who is currently looking to recruit a Sales Manager. This is a genuine career development opportunity for the right person. The successful candidate will ideally have worked in the events or hospitality industry in a sales or business development role. The role of a venue Sales Manager is to maximise and grow the Advanced Sales of the venue, by designing and delivering strategic sales action plans that are specifically designed to meet the targets of the business and the personal targets of the Sales Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Grow and maximise Advanced Sales, encompassing all aspects of Corporate and Pre-Booked Sales (i.e. corporate events, guest lists, booth bookings and all reservations)
  • Manage, train and motivate a team of Sales Executives and clearly define their roles and objectives within the venue
  • Work to pre-determined targets for Advanced Sales as set by the Sales Director, maximising all opportunities to achieve these
  • Manage the most important Corporate client base (by profile and value) and ensure excellent delivery of events for such clients
  • Create and execute a business plan for the venue, detailing clear targets and objectives for oneself and the Sales Executives
  • Attend networking events, raising the profile of both the Sales Manager and the venue within the local community
  • Assist the General Manager in achieving overall sales and business targets, by developing local initiatives, contrived events and promotion of the venue
  • Attend regular Sales Meetings / Conference calls as detailed by the Sales Director, presenting sales updates and forecasts for Advanced Sales of the venue
  • Perform client show rounds and meet and greet clients, acting as the Venue representative
  • Organise and execute Showcase events ensuring attendance of key customers such as Event Bookers and Corporate Clients
  • Plan effectively for successful delivery of the crucial Christmas and New Year’s Eve business targets
  • Continually build and validate a Database of contacts with key employers, organisations and private customers
  • Manage the venue ISIS system, to provide sales analysis and ensure accuracy of sales reporting
  • Attend / plan attendance for Conversion Days and actively drive cold-calling culture within the venue sales team
  • Be creative, passionate and positive in their interaction with venue management, the wider Advanced Sales team, and related areas of the business such as Commercial and Operations

Experience Required

  • You will have a solid new business sales background and be familiar with the Manchester market
  • Experience within the hospitality/events/hotel industry is desirable

  • Experience in both face to face and telephone based sales will be paramount for this role

  • Account management experience beneficial, however, new business is a must

  • Experience of working to targets and examples of exceeding those set

Rewards

  • This role offers a salary of up to £35- 38,000 plus £8,000 bonus
