IT job market is still buoyant

2011 was another good year for IT recruitment market, being one of the few sectors that saw strong growth. Companies are recognising the need for strong and competent IT professionals to deliver on their business plans and produce growth through efficiency measures and opening up new markets.
The rise of mobile and social commerce has created growth opportunities for many business as well as major challenges. Most eCommerce websites need to be redeveloped to be cross-platform friendly and take advantage of the latest technologies. The ability to have your Facebook page or your app to integrate with your website and produce sales has seen a demand for IT professional with a specific skillset. iOS and Android developers vacancies continue to be a growing trend but ‘Frontend Developers’ appear to be the next big thing. Traditionally the web design process required Frontend Designers, UX Designers and Web Developers. When the cross platform dilemma was introduced, Frontend Designers and UX Designers began to merge as websites could no longer be viewed as static pages, they had to be responsive. The introduction of HTML5 and CSS3 has seen the role of designer and developer beginning to merge creating multiskilled individuals termed Frontend Developers.
