Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join our team in Porth, South Wales.
This is a varied, hands-on role where you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the accounts function. We're looking for someone who is organised, proactive, and able to work independently while maintaining accurate financial records.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing the day-to-day accounts function.
- Maintaining purchase and sales ledgers.
- Processing invoices, payments, and bank reconciliations.
- Monitoring cash flow and assisting with credit control where required.
- Preparing and submitting payroll information to external accountants.
- Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting month-end procedures.
- Ensuring financial records are kept up to date and compliant.
- Providing general bookkeeping and finance support as required.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience in a bookkeeping role.
- Essential: Experience working with the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS).
- Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles and double-entry accounting.
- Experience managing purchase and sales ledgers.
- Payroll administration experience, including preparing payroll information for external accountants.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
- Good IT skills, including experience with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Desirable
- AAT qualification or equivalent, or qualified by experience.
- Experience working within the construction industry.
- Familiarity with cloud-based accounting software.
