Business Analyst - Remote - £300 a day Outside IR35 - Financial Services -

Yolk Recruitment are working with a Global Financial services organisation looking for a highly motivated and confident Business Analyst, As part of the Development team, the IT Business Analyst will actively participate in identifying solutions, sign-off for deployment into production and handover to operations and support. The team works in close collaboration with all other areas of the business to identify efficiency's and improvements and provide tools to support making business-critical decisions.

The role will be a split of roughly 80% Business Analyst tasks and 20% Product Owner tasks managing the development team backlog and Agile ceremonies. You will be working on complex, large-scale, and challenging projects in the exciting world of commodities trading.

This role would suit proactive self-starter and problem-solver passionate about process and system improvements. You can establish positive relationships with colleagues at all levels through exceptional communication. Your organisational skills are excellent, and you can manage your workload as influenced by business priorities. You are a system thinker who works well under pressure and thrives in a dynamic and agile environment.

Business Analyst tasks:

  • Development request scoping and challenging
  • Requirements gathering
  • Clear documentation of requirements
  • Managing stakeholder's expectations
  • Writing clear acceptance criteria
  • Gaining approvals with stakeholders/department heads
  • Supporting development and QA to ensure solutions meet requirements
  • Analysing existing business processes and suggesting improvements
  • Working with project management on Business Cases

Product Owner responsibilities

  • Supporting the agile development lifecycle
  • Working with development teams to refine the design and development of the product
  • Communicate product requirements in the form of User Stories
  • Assist with time and resource estimates
  • Working closely with QA lead to triage and prioritise defects
  • Ad-Hoc responsibilities
  • Meetings/calls, R&D
  • Working with project management on Business Cases
  • Exploring the feasibility of new software and techniques
  • Resource management
  • Qualifications

Required skills and experience:

  • An analytical and disciplined mindset.
  • Agile knowledge or experience.
  • Confident communication with strong influencing and negotiation skills.
  • The ability to structure complex information and communicate to the most appropriate level of abstraction for the audience.
  • Ability to quickly understand and analyze business processes
  • Basic process modelling experience
  • A clear understanding of quality assurance and testing processes and the relationship of requirements specification to software testing
  • MS packages including Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • SQL and databases
  • Experience with backlog management tools (MS Devops boards)
  • Workflow structuring
  • Gap analysis of systems or business units
  • Excellent Interpersonal skills
