The Opportunity

Yolk Public Sector & Not-for-Profit is working with a well-known organisation to recruit for a Director of IT and Digital Vision on a Fixed-term contract basis for 5 months. This will be a hybrid role based in Swansea. The successful candidate will be available almost immediately and have experience of managing a team with excellent leadership skills.
 
What the Director of IT and Digital Vision will be doing

This role will assume responsibility for both the strategic and day to day IT operations across the organisation.
The post holder will also have responsibility for driving the Digital Vision and subsequent strategy within the organisation, to develop and deliver modern systems and processes, with a key focus on enhancing the experience for learners, staff and our partner organisations.
The post holder will be responsible for the leadership & line management of all digital systems and services – namely Computer Services (Infrastructure, Projects & Support, including Cybersecurity) and Digital Solutions (Interactive Learning Technology & Integrated Systems) teams.
 
What the Director of IT and Digital Vision will be responsible for

The post holder will:
  • Increase the adoption and user experience of our existing digital technologies
  • Deliver digital solutions reliably at scale, in a fast, efficient and cost effective manner
  • Create better digital experience for our learners, staff and wider stakeholders
  • Where needed, transform our legacy architecture and embrace new technological innovations
  • Develop relationships and understand delivery and support staff requirements in order to deliver a positive digital service
  • All of this, whilst always maintaining the security and resilience of our digital systems and information – without exception.
 
Other key responsibilities include:
  • Capital and Operational IT Budgets
  • Information Security awareness and compliance
  • IT supplier and contractor management
  • IT Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery
  • IT Procurement.
 
What the Director of IT and Digital Vision will bring to the team
 
Essential:
  • HND/HNC in an IT or related discipline.
  • Microsoft qualifications (eg MCSE)
  • Experience of working in a role running the management of a network infrastructure within a commercial or educational environment.
  • Experience of designing, configuring and supporting complex networking systems and telecommunication systems.
  • Experience of procurement and budget management
  • Experience of leading and managing staff.
  • A proven track record in defining and documenting IT strategies, policies and procedures.
  • Possesses a wide technical knowledge of hardware and software.
  • Experience and knowledge of Cybersecurity and methodologies of keeping an organisation safe from Cyber-attacks.
  • Able to lead, organise, manage, deploy and motivate others and demonstrate managerial skills.
