Yolk recruitment is pleased to be working with a well-known manufacturer who are looking for an Environmental Manager.
This is a great opportunity to join an established, growing company and expand your skills and knowledge in the Safety, Health and Environmental department.
You will work closely with skilled colleagues who all strive to improve and optimise the business’ manufacturing processes. You will be offered the opportunity to work in an organization which cares about its employees and has a people-driven culture.
What you will be doing as Environmental Manager:
Manage the Environmental Department and maintain compliance with permits, legislation and Group documents
Maintain certification to ISO 14001, ISO 50001 and PAS 402
Ensure adequate resources are provided to achieve the department objectives whilst within budgeted levels
Ensure that each member of the department knows their role and contribution to achieving the company strategy through regular communications, development and Performance Reviews
Ensure full compliance with the EPR (Environmental Permitting Regulations) Permit
Responsible for the authorisation and submission of routine reports to Natural Resources Wales as specified in the EPR Permit
Ensure full compliance with the GHG (Greenhouse Gas) Permit
Responsible for the annual submission of carbon dioxide emission values to Natural Resources Wales under UKETS
Act as an Authorised Representative on the company’s UKETS trading account
Highlight any issues that might jeopardise the company’s position within the UKETS system
Responsible for the annual submission of Waste Packaging data to the Environment Agency and purchase of PRNs (Packaging Recovery Notes)
Responsible for the annual submission of PRTR information (Pollutant Release and Transfer Register)
Ensure full conformance with Group Environmental MMRs (Mandatory Minimum Requirements)
Ensure full compliance with other relevant legislation and guidance using control plans for site emissions and environmental impact assessments for noise, flora, odour and any other measurement of environmental impact
Act as the main point of contact for contractors who deal with environmental issues such as waste management, Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems (CEMs) and any environmental projects
The skills you will bring as Environmental Manager:
Science / environment related degree or extensive experience in a similar industry
Working knowledge of environmental and energy legislation
Experience with ISO 14001 and ISO 50001
Strong IT skills
Ability to understand and manage bespoke SHE software
IEMA qualification - Desirable
NEBOSH in Environmental Management - Desirable
H&S qualification - Desirable
