​Management Accountant

This is what you’ll be doing

My client is a family run manufacturing business based in the Newport area. The role is working within a recently refurbished office, where you will head up a small but efficient finance team. As a Management Accountant you will be responsible for developing robust monitoring, reporting and forecasting tools and ensuring strong financial controls throughout the company's processes and systems.

·       Processing day to day ledger entries as required.

·       Managing debtor’s ledger to ensure credit control processes are being adhered to.

·       Management of accounts payable function.

·       Prepare monthly financial statements for internal and external use.

·       Ensuring that all reporting is compliant with all relevant accounting standards.

·       Monitoring the company’s foreign exchange exposure including forecasts to identify shortfalls and hedging with appropriate instruments.

·       Reconciliation and processing of quarterly VAT returns.

·       Sourcing finance for the company’s activities as required and ensuring existing facilities are serviced.

·       Ensuring internal control processes are adhered to.

·       Planning, monitoring and advising the directors on the company’s performance on an ongoing basis.

·       Ensuring monthly statutory filing requirements are adhered to including Intrastat, EC Sales, etc.

·       Prepare and maintain cashflow forecasts and budgets.

·       Assisting external accountants with the preparation of statutory financial statements and annual audit.

The experience you’ll bring to the team

·       ACCA qualified, part qualified or 2 years plus experience as a Management Accountant

·       Competent Microsoft skills

·       Strong communicator

·       Attention to detail

·       Good time management skills
