Midweight UI/UX Designer

Cardiff (remote/hybrid)

£40,000 - £45,000 per annum

Yolk Recruitment are proud to partner with a Silicon Valley-backed startup digitally transforming the Consumer Goods industry with a suite of continuously innovative applications, to hire a talented and passionate Midweight UI/UX Designer.

Reporting to the UI/UX Manager, you'll sit between one Senior and one Junior designer in a team of four, and work closely with the development team to deliver ground-breaking products that impact people's lives on a daily basis.

Applicants should give themselves the best possible chance by providing a portfolio that illustrates the processes and decisions behind their designs with regards to tackling the concern for the user, as well as examples of work with a diversity of applications in terms of depth and type.

Here's what you'll be doing

• Designing a suite of next-gen mobile and web applications for maximally intuitive user-experience.
• Creating and prototyping research-led, consumer-centred design solutions in close proximity with dev and product management teams.
• Establishing user requirements from prospective and existing customers and making data-based design recommendations.
• Leading workshops, engaging in whiteboard meetings and ideation sessions, and managing stakeholders.

The skills and experience you'll bring to the team

• Between 1-3 years of UX/UI or other Human Centred Design experience, across both mobile and web applications.
• An eager eye for detail, and a passion and skill for fixing really big problems.
• Familiarity with the challenges and fluidity of fast-paced startup environments.
• Have worked previously on applications with complex functionality.
• Comfortability with industry-standard UX frameworks, and tools including Sketch, Figma, Adobe, and Miro.
• Well-versed in principles and concepts of design, product strategy, user research and testing, and validation.

What you'll receive in return

• £40,000 - £45,000 p/a.
• Full flexibility regarding office/home working model - you'll need to be able to make it to the office for in-person collab meetings when they arise, so being relatively local is important.
