​Professional Negligence Paralegal

An International Top 25 Law firm are looking for an experienced and bright Paralegal/ Claims Handler to join their Chambers and Legal 500 Tier 1 ranked, Professional Indemnity team.This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven Paralegal who is eager to work within insurance claims, to develop their career by undertaking excellent quality work, and gain greater exposure to client facing responsibilities.

This is a full time, permanent opportunity, based out of the firm’s state of the art central Bristol office. Notably, this role is currently fully remote, however the team will be moving towards a blended working pattern over the coming months.

This is what you’ll be doing

·        Manage a busy caseload of Solicitors professional indemnity cases, predominately working on claims against Conveyancing and Probate Solicitors

·        Provide excellent service to clients, and be committed to understanding SRA rules and procedures

·        Set up new files with the support of an administrator, and identify issues

·        Assess liability and quantum for each case

·        Play a key role in communicating with clients and maintain excellent relations

·        Resolve claims through negotiation of settlement, rebuttal or claims and/or declining of cover, and instruct experts and counsel where appropriate

·        Exercise full compliance on your caseload, and time record accurately

The experience you’ll bring to the team

·        Experience working as a claim’s handler within professional negligence for a minimum of 2 years OR experience working as a Conveyancing Paralegal for a minimum of 2 years

·        Alongside the above experience, experience working within private client is desirable

·        LLB or CILEx is preferred

·        Ability to confidently build relationships with client and communicate effectively

·        Handle a busy caseload and reach achievable billing targets

·        Commercially minded, with a desire to work within insurance law

·        Team oriented with a willingness to support your colleagues
