Property Litigation - NQ+ Solicitor / Chartered Legal Executive

Exeter, UK - Top 100 Firm - Competitive Salary

Our client is a vibrant private practice law firm based in the South West with offices in Exeter and Bristol. Offering excellent career prospects, this firm is expanding it's thriving Property Litigation department as they seek to recruit a NQ+ Solicitor / CILEX qualified Lawyer to their ranks.

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual who wants to play a part in the success of the Property Litigation team and the firm. An opportunity awaits to grow the firm's Property Litigation presence on a national scale.

Lawyers looking to establish their career and who are keen to be a part of our client's long-term plans should apply.

This is what you'll be doing

Our client is looking to recruit a Solicitor at NQ level or CILEX qualified Lawyer into their Property Litigation Team. Solicitors with PQE are also encouraged to apply. You will work in a collaborative team with plenty of opportunity for learning and development alongside two Partners, Senior Associates, Associates, two NQ Solicitors and Paralegals.

You will be based in the Exeter office and you will be working directly with the partner on a varied case load containing litigious property related matters. You will be dealing with landlord, co-ownership and neighbour disputes, for example, rights of way, harassment, boundary disputes and adverse possession.

Duties and responsibilities will also include:-

  • Lease disputes
  • Commercial rent recovery
  • Enforcement of charges
  • Possession
  • Rectifying historic title issues.

You will have the responsibility of managing your own case load in a supportive and collaborative team and presents a great opportunity to hone your niche in the Property Litigation space.

This is what you'll bring to the Team

Prior Property Litigation experience, whether that's a seat in your Training Contract or Paralegal experience in Property Litigation is desirable but not essential for the role provided you have an enthusiasm to work in Property Litigation. Experience of contentious residential and commercial property matters within a regional or city firm will be favourable and enable you to hit the ground running in the team.

An appetite to build strong client relationships will be key to your success and you will utilise your communication skills to build confidence with clients with whom you will handle matters sensitively and with empathy.

You will be working in a fast paced environment and so the ability to work under pressure and meet challenging deadlines will be required. You must be able to exercise and demonstrate good commercial judgment to seek resolutions and the best possible outcomes for your clients. Excellent attention for detail is also required as you will be entrusted to take on a high level of responsibility.

This is what you'll get in return

  • 25 days annual leave plus your birthday off and an additional day at Christmas
  • Free staff parking
  • Gym facilities on site
  • Canteen on site
  • Private healthcare plans
  • Free access to mental well being app Headspace
