Senior Systems Administrator / 3rd Line Support - £35,000pa – Hybrid - Taunton

Yolk Recruitment are sourcing for an exciting role as a Senior Systems Administrator. You will be providing expert 3rd line technical advice and support to all our systems. This role will be part of a team providing 24*7 cover through an on-call rota and will be required to provide on-call cover outside of normal working hours. Additional payments will be made for this.

  • Regularly monitor own and team’s work against milestones or targets and act promptly to keep work on track and maintain performance
 
Skills / Experience:

Essential:
  • Strong communications skills and the ability to present to all staff at the appropriate level
  • Expert technical experience of wide variety of Server, Storage and Networking technologies at a 3rd Line Support level.
  • Knowledge of IT security best practice, with particular emphasis on MOD standards and accreditation process.
  • Expert experience of Microsoft Windows Servers 2016, 2019, Microsoft Hyper-V and other Server and infrastructure technologies in a large enterprise environment, either holding appropriate qualifications or working toward them.
  • Experience in Microsoft Azure cloud technologies both IaaS and PaaS concepts and configuration.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office 365 technologies including Azure active directory.
  • Experience with troubleshooting enterprise applications across a diverse range of technologies.
 
 
Desirable:
  • Have experience of leadership in a technical/support team environment). Experience of directing others to undertake tasks.
  • Familiar with business continuity concepts such as the methods and techniques for risk management, business impact analysis, countermeasures and contingency arrangements relating to the serious disruption of IT services.
  • Awareness of AWS Cloud Technologies
  • Experience of Linux Operating Systems and other open source technologies
  • Experience of Powershell scripting or other automation technologies
  • Experience with Fortinet products
