The role

 

This renowned Food Manufacturing business is known for investing heavily in its people and due to a recent promotion, they are now on the lookout for an experienced Shift Manager.This is a business that recognises the importance of hiring and holding on to excellent people in every role. As Shift Manager you’ll be

 

·        Managing, maintaining & developing staff & machinery in a manner that will ensure the team consistently achieve the targeted levels of performance, in the most cost-effective way

·        Providing outstanding leadership, continuously challenging, innovating and improving performance in all production areas.

·        Responsible for both manufacturing shifts, including material flows into the factory.

·        Overseeing production whilst maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety, improving efficiencies and facilitating all product launches.

·        Providing holiday cover for other Shift Managers where necessary

·        Take full responsibility to ensure customer service levels are fulfilled.

·        Support the production planner to manage customer communications and develop strong customer relationships.

·        Take full responsibility for the achievement of the production plan and ensure clear and timely communication of any service issues.

·        Take full responsibility for site health and safety.

·        Ensure Risk Assessments have been completed and signed off.

·        Responsible for all people management activities including absence management, appraisals, discipline, grievances. To determine and ensure the achievement of the skills & training requirements of the team to fulfill current and future business needs. To lead coach and motivate the team to achieve individual and departmental development.

·        Provide coaching and support to the line management team on HR policy and employee relation matters.

·        Ensure targets are met for both labour cost % and absolute labour cost.

 

What you’ll bring to the team

 

·        Previous experience in a similar role within Food Manufacturing highly advantageous

·        Self-motivated, naturally enthusiastic and able to lead by example

·        Professional and proactive work ethic

·        Excellent problem solving & analysis

·        Ability to work under pressure                  

·        Commitment to continually improving performance
