Yolk Recruitment Ltd are working with one of the world's leading defence contractors for the recruitment of a security cleared Senior Cloud Engineer to join their offices in central Cheltenham

Senior Cloud Engineer - Permanent - Salary up to £75,000pa - Cheltenham - DV Clearance Pre-requisite

As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you play a pivotal role in designing, developing and maintaining the critical cloud infrastructure that powers their services. You will be self-driven and organised with a passion for building elegant and stable solutions. You will have the chance to work on a variety of exciting projects with complex challenges within a unique space. You will be at the forefront of delivering core solutions that have real world impact.

Their UK Cyber & Intelligence business combines modern software development approaches with a rich heritage and experience in the Defence and security sectors. Their customers have complex and sensitive data and information requirements requiring a mission partner who quickly understands the context, delivering and sustaining a portfolio of challenging technology projects at scale and pace, supporting them through an ambitious digital transformation programme.

Responsibilities:

• Design & develop robust and scalable cloud solutions following AWS best practices for efficiency and security.
• Get involved in the entire development lifecycle from requirements gathering to design, implementation, test and deployment.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including software development and product management.
• Mentor and guide junior developers contributing to the overall team's growth.

We are looking for:

• 2+ years as a Cloud Engineer with a strong focus on cloud based development in AWS (Azure and/or GCP is a plus).
• Proven experience in designing, developing & deploying scalable cloud solutions.
• Familiarity with core Infrastructure technologies on AWS as well as some common third party solutions (AWS CDK, Cloud Formation, Lambda, Docker, Terraform).
• Excellent communication, collaboration & problem solving skills, ideally with some experience in agile ways of working.

Security clearance:

Due to the nature of our projects, you must be British for this clearance type.

You must already hold the highest level of UK Government security clearance.
