Yolk Recruitment are recruiting for a Junior – Mid level Data Engineer to join an exciting new project with a long established and successfully financial company. You will be working with a small team of skilled data engineers to build a brand-new cloud-based platform using Azure and Snowflake. This is an exciting opportunity for a data engineer to learning new skills in snowflake and azure. You will be part of a new green field platform were your knowledge and ideas will influence the development of the project.

Responsibilities:

Use a range of modelling techniques and technical skills to solve data engineering tasks that areas in the brand-new cloud platform
Support the translation of data into valuable insights that inform decisions, alongside resources from architecture, governance, analytics and business product owner communities
Working with the Platform Lead and Lead Data Engineer to develop the technical vision for our data platform, and supporting the development of an effective and fully functioning DataOps capability
Idea generation, you will have the chance to influence the direction of this brand-new cloud platform (excellent learning opportunity)

Core Skills:

Strong SQL experience
Strong python experience
Experience working with ETL pipelines
Experience working with R
Some experience with data reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau or Looker)

Desirable Skills:

Any previous experience working within a cloud-based environment (Azure, snowflake, AWS, GCP or IBM)
