Principal Systems Engineer - £800 per day inside ir35 - 6 months (extension highly likely) - Newport - onsite working (condensed hours available) - Must be eligible for SC clearance - one stage virtual interview - Sector: Aerospace & Defence
Yolk Recruitment are recruiting for a principal systems engineer to work with a cutting-edge aerospace company developing a critical security product that will enable a massive leap forward within the industry.
This is an exciting opportunity to liaise with a mutlti- discipline team from software, hardware, test function and project management. The role sits within the cyber security function and will give the opportunity to work on cutting edge technology.
Due to the security nature of the project, it has been rated a UK eyes only project.
Responsibilities:
- Establish defined deliverables and objectives for the completion of the work package.
- Provide detailed specifications for proposed solutions including materials, manpower and time.
- Establish milestones for necessary contributions from departments and develop processes to facilitate their collaboration.
- Work with the relevant teams to assure the performance, quality and functionality of the system against the deliverable requirements.
- Assist other department engineers in creating practical demonstrations of proposed solutions and demonstrating them to other members of the team.
- Creating accurate, schematics plans of the system.
Core Skills:
- Experience in a Leading System Engineering Role or a desire to develop from an experienced system engineering background into this position.
- Eligible for SC clearance, clearance must be attained before starting the project
- Understanding and application of system engineering lifecycles with large, complex engineering projects.
- Experience of planning, estimating, and defining engineering tasks.
- Experience of working to the V-Model, Spiral and Agile methods of development.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience in the Defence / Aerospace
- Experience working collaboratively across a large team to achieve business improvement objectives.
- Experience in using Model-Based Systems Engineering Tools.
- Experience of software development, integration and testing at a full system level.
