Process Engineer - £450 - 500 per day inside ir35 - 12 months (extension likely) - Hybrid - North London or Royston - one stage virtual interview - ASAP start available - Sector: Green technology.
Yolk Recruitment are recruiting for a Process Engineer to work with a global leader in green technology and manufacturing. This is an exciting opportunity to support the provision of engineering direction and input into a £100M+ capital investment portfolio of Projects across the UK Business.
Responsibilities:
- Technical expert for the process/chemical engineering discipline, providing process engineering direction for major engineering projects and programmes of work circa £100M in portfolio.
- Manage the Operational Risk Assessment process and provide regular input to overall asset risk register
- Work closely with production and maintenance teams to understand the key site risks and opportunities for improvement
- Writing of, or input into key front end project deliverables such as concept selection & justification, basis of design and basis for estimate documents
- Support HAZOP, LOPA and other hazard studies as part of project risk management
- Generation of key process engineering deliverables including: mass and energy balances, process flow diagrams, P&IDs, simulations (where required), control and operating philosophies, etc
- Support and generate management of change documentation to support plant modifications which enable project delivery
- Develop and deliver training to production and maintenance technicians as required during commissioning and start up of projects
- Support commissioning and start up, in particular through start up readiness plans and assurance (e.g. handover and start up logic diagrams)
- Liaise with vendor/EPC and respond to project technical queries and scope change assessments within discipline for projects
Core Skills:
- Minimum 5 years' experience working as a Process/Chemical Engineer
- Experience of delivering key process engineering scopes such as mass & energy balances, P&IDs, Cause and Effects, equipment sizing and Operating procedures
- Competent in a variety of risk management processes (e.g. HAZOP/LOPA, QRA, bow-ties, risk registers and matrices)
- Experience working on an operational site as Process Engineer
- Experience of COMAH regulations and having worked on a COMAH site.
Desirable Skills:
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) with a recognised professional institute (or actively working towards this)
- Experience of UK environmental legislation / worked at a site under PP&C permit
- Experience using a process simulator (e.g. Hysys / Aspen etc)
