Public Affairs Adviser- Cardiff - 1 year FTC - £45,843-£52,720 DOE

We have teamed up with a leading utilities provider who are requiring a Public Affairs Adviser for a one year arrangement. This is a really exciting and challenging role. You will be working as part of a closely knit team where you will be ensuring briefings are prepared, questions are answered and liaise with key executives.

What you will be doing

  • Lead and deliver our public affairs strategy, through political relationship building, political briefings, responses to Senedd and Parliamentary enquiries and managing our election/party conference activity
  • Recommend appropriate approaches for effective engagement to raise awareness and strengthen our reputation with key policy makers and decision-makers
  • Ensure senior Executives are properly briefed when attending appointments
  • Horizon scan for upcoming policy developments and activities and maintain a public affairs schedule
  • On a rota basis you will be required to work occasional irregular hours should circumstances dictate

What you will bring to the role

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience dealing with politicians
  • Proven influencing skills, including the ability to analyse and interpret complex information and frame to resonate with senior political audiences
  • Excellent organisation and planning skills to respond quickly but professionally to the demands of the fast moving political, policy and media agendas
