Shift Manager

Yolk Recruitment is proud to be supporting a well-established, globally backed manufacturing organisation with the recruitment of a Shift Manager.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Production Supervisor or Manufacturing Leader ready to take full operational responsibility for shift performance within a high-volume, fast-paced production environment serving blue-chip customers across regulated industries.

As Shift Manager, you will take full responsibility for the safe, efficient and quality-driven performance of your shift. You'll lead, coach and develop a team of Production Operatives while ensuring operational KPIs, customer expectations and compliance standards are consistently achieved. Key responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage all shift-based production activities
  • Drive a strong health & safety culture, leading by example at all times
  • Manage, motivate and develop a team of Production Operatives
  • Act as the first point of contact for employee relations and shift queries
  • Allocate daily production plans to meet output and customer deadlines
  • Monitor and manage KPIs, implementing corrective actions where required
  • Conduct incident, accident and quality investigations, including root cause analysis
  • Ensure strict adherence to product quality and compliance standards
  • Coordinate with Engineering and other departments to minimise downtime
  • Support production trials, product changes and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Drive lean manufacturing techniques to exceed operational targets
  • Report and respond effectively to machinery or plant breakdowns
  • Deliver clear performance feedback and direction to drive high standards

  • Proven experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Strong people management and performance development capability.
  • ILM qualification.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
