Yolk Recruitment are pleased to announce an exciting opening for an Area Engineering Manager to oversee our Civil and Structural Engineering teams.
Throughout our client's Port Talbot site, there a number of ageing static steel structures and concrete/bricked assets. The Area Engineering Manager will manage a team of civil and structural engineers, who are responsible for understanding the health of the assets, remaining life and the required rectification work, to ensure the assets remain safe and reliable status for continued operation.
Your responsibilities will include;
- Management of inspection/surveys plans/time lines and ensuring team members completed required tasks within the specified time frames. You will be able to plan, schedule, and manage large inspection programs on critical structural plant.
- Ensuring & producing professional, detailed & accurate reports with clear and precise observations / recommendations / improvement activities.
- Following-up on defective equipment repairs / replacement and ensure repairs are completed to the required standard with pre-engineering team/site services team.
- Deputising for the Asset Integrity Manager when required.
- Ensuring safe working practices and good house-keeping of jobs under your team's control.
The Area Engineering Manager will be educated to Degree level in Civil or Structural Engineering (However, equivalent knowledge, qualifications and experience will also be considered).
You'll have a number of year's experience in the manufacturing sector and will hold a good understanding of plant requirements. The Area Engineering Manager will be fluent in the use of Microsoft Offices programmes (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, etc), auto CAD and 3D Model viewers.
IOSH/NEBOSH Qualifications would also be advantageous.
