A market leading and highly automated manufacturing business has created a new Automation Controls Engineer role to support both the development of new production equipment and ongoing improvement projects for a broad range of existing production lines.

The Automation Control Engineer will be the subject lead for electrical and automation tasks, including PLC programming, electrical and automation hardware specification, safety circuits and electrical drawings. The ideal candidate will be able to write both ladder and script and will have experience with PLC programs including Beckhoff.

You’ll also play a wider role in the development of automated equipment, obtaining and creating clear specifications with suppliers and colleagues and working alongside production engineers and subcontractors to ensure the correct design, test, commissioning and installation of automated equipment. 

The experience you’ll bring to the team

Electrical HNC or equivalent

Strong PLC programming experience
