Automation/Manufacturing Engineer

Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain automated and standalone manufacturing processes and equipment to meet project requirements and safety standards.
- Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Compile and assist in writing relevant documentation, including risk assessments and production work instructions, ensuring safe working practices.
- Maintain comprehensive records of all documentation, including drawings, sketches, calculations, and process/product evolution history.
- Oversee or support process modifications and tooling changeovers.
- Implement repair and modification work to site facilities and equipment, including electrical wiring and service installation tasks.
- Complete all development and maintenance tasks efficiently and provide feedback to the computerised management system (Pirana).
Essential Criteria:
- Time-served qualification in manufacturing, mechanical, or electrical engineering discipline with proven relevant experience.
- A minimum of NVQ level 3 or HNC in a relevant engineering field
- Experience installing single and three-phase electrical circuits.
- Design-level experience with PLCs and/or control system programming, especially Siemens S7 & UR 6 axis robots.
- Proficient in reading, writing, and understanding engineering drawings and schematic diagrams.
- Ability to operate workshop equipment such as lathes and milling machines.
- Legislative experience of Machinery Directive and Equipment Building requirements.
- Strong practical and problem-solving abilities, self-discipline, and knowledge of 5S, lean, and HS&E practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 18th Edition Electrical Wiring qualification (preferred but not essential).
