A successful Waste Management company in Cardiff are recruiting for an experienced business development manager to join their small but established sales team.
This company offer services and products which include recycled aggregates and sands, the treatment of hazardous soils, muck away, skip hire and waste processing. We are looking for someone that has experience in any of these or similar experience with a proven track record of selling and bringing in business.
Long term plan for a business development manager would be that you achieve sales targets, support growing the team and move into a senior role with the company, taking ownership for business development and driving the business forward.
Your responsibilities as a business development manager
Develop and generate new business as well as ensuring existing clients are best served.
Cold calling to gain business and arrange appointments
Visit clients to introduce products and services
Contact SME businesses and large national companies for business
Work within framework agreements and codes of practice
Visit clients to introduce products and services
Liaise extensively with transport & production operations teams to plan and facilitate deliveries of products and the general management of vehicle assets
Plan your own time effectively to ensure all targets are met
Your skills/ experience
Must have experience in a similar industry - ideally waste or construction sectors particularly within Quarrying, Waste Transfer Stations, Crushing & Screening, Soil Washing Plants, Muck Away and Contaminated Site Remediation.
Ability to sell to businesses of all sizes
Experience in working within the constraints of a waste management permit, and have a clear understanding of waste regulation and the role of the Regulating Authority and the HSE.
Proven track record of new business and client maximisation
Excellent communication and administration skills
Good commercial awareness
Self motivated to work individually in sales
