Business Development Manager
Are you experienced at event sales? Do you have the gift of the gab with the ability to generate new business? If so and you have a keen interest in sport, particularly horse racing this could be the perfect role for you!
This is what you'll be doing
Working as the business development manager at a local racourse your main aim will be to build new and long lasting relationships with business both locally and nationally. Your key responsibilities are to maximise revenue for the following key income streams:
- Race Sponsorship
- Advertising Hoardings
- Annual Boxes
- Event Venue Hire
New business will be generated by networking, building relationships, cold calling, inviting prospects to meetings, and directly approaching potential customers to encourage them to rebook and up-sell to them. You will work closely with the general manager to target and approach clients with significant budgets to attract them.
The experience you'll bring to the team
- 2 years experience working within a business development/new business role
- a background in event or sponsorship sales
- the ability to build long standing business relationships
- the pro activeness to generate and self source new potential clients to approach
What you'll get in return
- £25 - £35,000 basic + uncapped commission
- OTE £40-£45k +
- business hours Monday - Friday 9-5
- day off in lieu when working race or event days
