A vacancy has arisen for one of the UK's leading full service law firms, with offices in London, Wales, and the regions and has a highly regarded health law practice. Within this practice they act for health professionals including doctors and dentists in defending clinical negligence claims.


Role Purpose

The Cardiff based clinical negligence team is looking to expand its capabilities and to this end is looking to recruit a first rate solicitor at 4 – 5 years PQE level with a particular enthusiasm and aptitude for this area of work.

The experience you’ll bring to the team

Your experience in clinical negligence work acting for health care professionals will have been gained at a good quality firm, as a solicitor. You will have a high level of technical expertise in this specialised field. Your work will have included experience with: analysing the merits and value of clinical negligence claims; interviewing clients and witnesses; taking instructions from clients; preparing witness statements; being confident in drafting all routine litigation documents, including for court and instructions to experts and counsel; advocacy, at interlocutory hearings such as for CMCs; dealing confidently with other parties; a track record of successfully negotiating settlements; participation in business development initiatives; and conducting a case load of client matters in your own right.  You will work in a busy team and be capable of dealing with high value and complex cases and of conducting your own caseload. You will be based in their Cardiff office.
