We are working with a large local authority to recruit for a Communications and Engagement specialist. The role will be responsible for delivering a broad range of communications activities including proactive and reactive media handling, digital and campaigns to protect the reputation of the organisation and build public confidence in our service.
This is what you will be doing as communications and engagement specialist.
Identify opportunities to share the organisations story with the media regionally and locally, and through digital and internal channels
Develop campaigns against key priorities to raise public awareness or elicit behaviour change in line with force objectives
Promote innovation, undertake research and develop new and exciting methods of communicating and engaging with the public.
As part of a team, manage the reactive press office section to respond to reactive media enquiries
The experience you’ll bring to the team
Must be able to evidence previous experience of working in a communications role in journalism, marketing, public relations or community engagement environment.
Must have previous experience of handling media and communications events and campaigns.
Experience and understanding of evaluating the impact of media and engagement activities.
