Communications Lead
 
The Opportunity
Yolk Public Sector & Not-for-Profit is working with a large and fast-growing regulatory body to support them to recruit a permanent Communications Lead. This is a leadership position delivering regulated, communications at scale (to 1.3m employers!) and meeting delivery standards. This isn’t a ‘tick it over’ type of position, but one offering you the chance to impact change, change behaviours, implement efficiencies and evolve the service.
Our client offers a real work life balance but there would be a requirement for you to be in Brighton for 1 or 2 days a week.
 
What the Communications Lead will be doing
We’re looking for a Communications Services Lead who will be responsible for all the direct-to-employer communications and online content). This leadership role will ensure that employer compliance targets are achieved through the timely dispatch of effective direct-to-employer nudge communications delivered at scale and to service delivery standards. It also ensures all online tools and content are accurate, relevant and meet the needs of users, enabling all employers to be compliant with their duties.

  • Have direct responsibility for the shape and operation of the employer communications programme including design, development and implementationHave direct responsibility for the shape and operation of the employer communications programme including design, development and implementation
  • Take proactive steps to change communications activity to address or prevent any predicted or actual downward trends in employer compliance and deliver efficiencies to the operation
  • Be accountable for the development and maintenance of online tools and content to GDS standards
  • Be accountable for the timely and accurate dispatch of all communications at scale
  • Manage third party suppliers to ensure a high-quality service and drive value for money
 What the Communications Lead will bring to the team
  • Extensive communications experience with particular focus on behavioural change programmes delivered via direct communications (both off and online)
  • Extensive experience of running a bulk communications function to meet service levels, brand and quality standards and regulatory requirements
  • Experience of outsourced supplier management (notably management of outsourced bulk fulfilment operation)
  • Extensive experience of the use of analysis, metrics and insight to drive behaviours and continuous improvement through communications
  • Experience of overseeing online content that meets user-centric design principles and delivered to GDS and accessibility standards.
  • Experience in a leadership role requiring excellent communication and influencing skills with the team and other departments including to senior / Board level as well as with external suppliers and partners
