Control and Instrumentation Engineer - £450 per day inside ir35 - 12 months (extension likely) - Hybrid (2 days a week onsite) - North London or Royston - one stage virtual interview - ASAP start available - Sector: Green technology / Chemical.
Yolk Recruitment are recruiting for a Control and Instrumentation Engineer to work with a global leader in green technology and manufacturing. This is an exciting opportunity to support the provision of engineering direction and input into a £150M capital investment portfolio of Projects across the UK Business.
Responsibilities:
- Technical expert for C&I discipline, providing C&I engineering direction for major engineering projects and programmes of work.
- Input into key front end project deliverables such as concept selection & justification, basis of design and basis for estimate documents
- Liaise with the Project team, Operations, and Maintenance to ensure that the right systems are implemented.
- For smaller projects and where appropriate, deliver C&I designs for retrofit, working with local supply chain.
- Support development of CAPEX project scopes to maintain the control infrastructure on site.
- Manage obsolescence risk on both sites by proposing suitable CAPEX projects and scope
- Develop and deliver training to production and maintenance technicians as required during commissioning and start-up of projects
- Interfacing with contractors and external design engineers. (document checking, answering RFIs.
- Identify the appropriate application of Industry engineering codes, standards, practices and design guides for CAPEX projects
Core Skills:
- Minimum 5 years' experience working as a Control & Instrumentation Engineer
- Understanding of DSEAR / ATEX regulations
- Experience with recognised industry standards (e.g. IEC 61508, IEC 61511 etc)
- Risk management knowledge and experience
- Experience working on an operational site as Control and Instrumentation Engineer
Desirable Skills:
- Project and commissioning experience
- Experience with SCADA packages
- Experience working within Hazardous materials.
- Experience in a process industry
