What the Cost Analyst will be doing

The ideal Cost Analyst will be responsible for supporting the development of the business planning process for the Retail Business Unit, be accountable for the understanding of costs and the drivers of cost to support the Retail Management Team's effectiveness of decision making. Take ownership of the creation and management of cost models.

This will include.

• Develop and maintain cost models to support the regulatory price review and long-term planning process.
• Provide detailed analysis and understanding of the drivers of cost and effect of key cost drivers on the Retail operating costs at local, company and industry levels with focus on the efficiency of the operation, cost trends and developments in the external environment
• To ensure that data is presented accurately and data in models remains relevant to ensure it can be relied upon for decision making
• Carry out detailed analysis into key cost lines and activities

What the successful Cost Analyst will bring to the team

This role is suitable for someone who has

• Qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) or working towards qualification
• Previous experience in cost analysis and model development required
• Demonstrable advanced Excel/VBA/SQL skills
• Ability to manipulate large volumes of data using appropriate analytical tools
