We are working with a large regulatory body who are looking for a Criminal Investigation Manager. The role will respond to criminal activity within the regulated industry, grounded by the Authority’s responsibility in protecting the public and maintaining the effectiveness of businesses providing security industry services.
This is what you’ll be doing
Senior Investigating Officer for all criminal investigations undertaken by the Authority in the UK, responsible for proceedings through the Criminal Justice System.
Responsible for high standards and conduct on investigations, undertaking audit function in lieu of any formal Inspectorate.
Accountable for case management systems and departmental procedures to support casework.
Where necessary, participate in or adopt criminal investigations; undertake investigatory tasks through to the conclusion of proceedings.
Build effective internal and external relationships to support successful investigations, work collaboratively to achieve the aims of the organisation.
The experience you’ll bring to the team
A good understanding of relevant UK legislation and criminal procedures, including CPIA, Fraud Act, PACE. Subject expert in relation to Private Security Industry Act (2001) and its application by
Confidently present evidence in the relevant courts clearly, cogently and convincingly irrespective of whether that evidence supports or undermines the Authority’s case.
Ability to process and analyse information and process guidance on the law and legal proceedings.
Sound knowledge of appropriate questioning and investigative techniques. Ability to advise on appropriate approaches to investigation.
