Job Description: As a mid-level data analyst specialising in the finance sector, you will be instrumental in extracting actionable insights from complex datasets, thereby shaping critical business decisions. We're seeking a motivated individual with a penchant for problem-solving and a passion for harnessing the power of data to steer our company forward.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gather, clean, and transform data from diverse sources to conduct in-depth analysis.
  • Develop and maintain data models, databases, and systems to facilitate efficient data retrieval and reporting.
  • Analyse intricate datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights, guiding strategic decision-making processes.
  • Prepare regular reports and interactive dashboards using Tableau to disseminate insights to stakeholders effectively.

SQL Development and Optimisation:

  • Utilise SQL to query and manipulate large datasets, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
  • Develop and optimise SQL queries and stored procedures for efficient data retrieval and analysis.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to understand data requirements and deliver innovative solutions.

Tableau Visualisation:

  • Design and develop interactive dashboards, visualisations, and reports using Tableau.
  • Translate complex data into visually compelling insights to drive informed decision-making.
  • Enhance existing Tableau visualisations to improve usability and functionality.

Data Quality Assurance:

  • Perform rigorous data validation and quality checks to maintain accuracy and consistency.
  • Identify and rectify data inconsistencies, anomalies, and errors.
  • Implement data governance best practices to uphold data integrity standards.

Continuous Learning and Development:

  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data analysis and visualisation.
  • Actively pursue opportunities to enhance coding skills, deepen understanding of finance, and acquire new tools and techniques.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of five years' experience in an analyst role, preferably in the finance sector.
  • Proficiency in SQL and Tableau is essential; familiarity with other data analysis tools is a plus.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to ask insightful questions and think critically.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a track record of working effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field
