Data Engineer - £700 per day inside ir35 - Gloucestershire - 12 months (extension likely) - one stage virtual interview - predominantly onsite - DV cleared project - Sector: Defence

Yolk recruitment are recruiting for a Data Engineer to work with a global leader in defence and national security technologies.

This is an exciting opportunity make real difference to a key IT transformation critical to the countries defence infrastructure. The clients team is currently growing their capability in data science within the analyst community. Our client is growing a team to own and deliver the mission's innovation & capability development projects.

Due to the security nature of the project the candidate must hold eDV security clearance on submission.

Responsibilities:

This role will further develop analyst-developed capability and interface with the wider engineering teams supporting stakeholders, ensuring that effective and sustainable capability is being delivered in coherence with software best practice. They will also play a key role in the running of the capability innovation lifecycle, pulling prototypes through into production at the right time; re-scoping and re-building capability as required to meet enduring mission and user need.

Core Skills / experience:

• Hold a current eDV security clearance.
• Great experience using python and data science techniques to solve problems.
• Implementing software best practice (code review, version control, testing etc)
• Experience of Cloud technologies, techniques, and approaches: GCP, AWS or Azure
• Familiarity with architectural concepts such as laaS, PaaS, FaaS

Desirable Skills:

• Previous experience working within the Defence, National Security, or Aerospace industry.
