Electrical Engineer - £450 per day inside ir35 - 12 months (extension likely) - Hybrid (2 days a week onsite) - North London or Royston - one stage virtual interview - ASAP start available - Sector: Green technology / Chemical.
Yolk Recruitment are recruiting for an Electrical Engineer to work with a global leader in green technology and manufacturing. This is an exciting opportunity to support the provision of engineering direction and input into a £150M capital investment portfolio of Projects across the UK Business.
Responsibilities:
- Technical expert for electrical discipline, providing electrical engineering direction for major engineering projects and programmes of work circa £150M in portfolio.
- Input into key front end project deliverables such as concept selection & justification, basis of design and basis for estimate documents.
- Liaise with the Project team, Operations, and Maintenance to ensure that the right systems are implemented.
- Respond to project technical queries and scope change assessments within discipline for projects.
- Drive continuous improvement of electrical related scopes by proposing CAPEX projects to close risk gaps or by realising opportunities such as continuous improvement initiatives.
- Implement recognised standards with regards to functional safety to ensure electrical, electronic and programmable electronic equipment operates correctly to achieve functional safety.
- Manage obsolescence risk on both sites by proposing suitable CAPEX projects and scope.
- Ensuring contractors comply with Johnson Matthey construction, manufacturing, installation, EHS and Security standards and policies.
- Ensure that electrical compliance is achieved through adherence with all legislative requirements including BS 7671 and the Electricity at Work Regs.
Core Skills:
- Minimum 5 years' experience working as an Electrical Engineer
- Understanding of DSEAR / ATEX / IP15 regulations.
- Experience with recognised industry standards (e.g. BS EN 61936, 60422, 7671, 60079-17, HSR 25 etc)
- Experience working on an operational site as Electrical Engineer
Desirable Skills:
- An awareness / understanding of Machinery Safety to BSEN 60204 & BSEN 13849 would be advantageous.
- An awareness / understanding of Functional Safety and BSEN 61508 & 61511 would be advantageous.
- Experience using Etap software.
