This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join a reputable company based in Bridgend South Wales. As an Electrical Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out maintenance and repair work on electrical equipment, ensuring that it performs to targeted levels of reliability.
You will bring an apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering (Minimum NVQ Level 3) and experience in maintenance, planned and reactive, of industrial machinery in a manufacturing, industrial or automated environment.
You will have a proactive and logical approach to problem solving and experience and good understanding of AC/DC Motors and Frequency Drives. You need to be familiar with Siemens PLC driven machinery and have experience with SCADA Packages (WinCC).
As the on site Electrical Engineer this is what you'll be doing
In this role you will be reporting to the site Engineering Manager covering both proactive and reactive maintenance routines on all facilities and production equipment ensuring that any reactive maintenance is responded to quickly to minimise production downtime.
Other key responsibilities include:
- Provide extensive electrical support and knowledge on all lines within the plant.
- Equipment including rolling Mills, Overhead cranes, and Hydraulic/Pneumatic Systems.
- To ensure maximum machine available time at least cost, through effective planned preventative maintenance schedules.
The experience you'll bring to the team.
- You will be time served/apprentice trained with a relevant Electrical Qualification.
- Have a good knowledge of Electrical Fault finding with experience of Pumps, Overhead cranes, and Steam Turbines.
- Worked as a Multiskilled Technician for a minimum of 2 years.
- Experience of working in a heavy engineering environment.
