We're looking for a detail-oriented and motivated Finance Assistant to join our team based in Cardiff. This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in finance or accounts, looking to grow their career in a collaborative and forward-thinking workplace-with the added bonus of free on-site parking.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the day-to-day running of the finance department, focusing on the purchase ledger and sales ledger.

  • Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions.

  • Update and manage financial spreadsheets and databases to ensure data integrity.

  • Assist in the preparation and ongoing monitoring of departmental and company-wide budgets.

  • Track expenditure and reconcile against budget allocations.

  • Help prepare regular financial reports, statements, and summaries.

  • Assist with internal and external audits by compiling required documentation.

  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records.

  • Keep up to date with relevant financial legislation and best practice.

  • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with reporting requirements.

  • Use accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero to support efficient financial processes.

What We're Looking For:

  • Previous experience in a finance assistant or similar role.

  • Working knowledge of accounting systems (QuickBooks, Sage, or Xero preferred).

  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.

  • Ability to work independently and within a team.

  • Good communication skills and a proactive approach to solving problems.

  • Strong understanding of financial reporting and budget tracking.
