Job Title: Finance Assistant
Location: Merthyr Tydfil, South Wales
Salary: Up to £26,000 per annum

About the Role: As a Finance Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the finance team, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations. This role offers an exciting chance to contribute to a growing business and work within a supportive and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements and reports.
- Process invoices, payments, and receipts accurately and in a timely manner.
- Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate and organised financial records.
- Support the month-end and year-end close processes.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial accuracy.
- Perform general administrative tasks as required.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 1-2 years' experience in a similar finance or accounting role.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks) is advantageous.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proactive and positive approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Qualifications:
- AAT qualification or working towards a recognised accounting qualification is desirable.
- GCSEs in Maths and English (A*-C) or equivalent.
