Scarlets is one of the oldest and most famous rugby clubs in the world. Founded in 1872, the Club has, throughout its vibrant history, been a proud innovator in the game both nationally and globally. Scarlets are one of the four professional Welsh rugby union teams in Wales and is recognised throughout the world. Based at the famous Parc y Scarlets stadium which was recently voted one of the best rugby stadiums in the UK.
Rugby is in the early stages of a major growth phase. During the past year we have seen some of the largest private equity houses enter the sport and see the commercial growth opportunities available.
You will be working alongside a fantastic team of professionals who always champion for the best.
We are searching for a dynamic team player to head up our marketing and technology team who is creative, innovative and entrepreneurial with a growth mindset but also prepared to roll-up their sleeves if required.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES – HEAD OF MARKETING & TECHNOLOGY
Leading the Marketing team to engage with key stakeholders, observe promoter activity, develop media relations and propose recommendations for developing the club communications remit, as well as developing sufficient knowledge within the team to be able to deliver the club’s vision.
Setting out a proactive plan of activity and implementation, by department, that is achievable within the current resource and beneficial to the aims of the club as set out in the long term strategy.
Marketing and technology lead, providing strategy, architecture and technology oversight and guidance. Responsible for managing departmental budgets as well.
Focused on delivering the highest levels of quality acquisition and traffic.
Generating online leads for all business verticals, ultimately increasing brand awareness, transactions and profit for the business.
Creating strategies to understand consumer behaviours across all key digital acquisition channels (Search, Shopping, Display, Affiliates) and driving an improved lifetime value (CRM).
Working with key stakeholders to interrogate web/mobile/app/ analytics data to identify actionable insights and opportunities to improve digital marketing, conversion, and retention.
Providing leadership, guidance, and input on all aspects including strategy, architecture, planning, and execution of Marketing and Technology Initiatives.
Ensuring the alignment and execution of business strategies for D2C, B2B and B2B2C initiatives across all digital platforms within the organisation.
Also setting guidelines to translate project and product requirements into functional technology implementations, provide formal supervision and coaching for the marketing and technology teams and set directions to inspire the continuous improvement of technology policies, standards, and procedures.
Guiding appropriate innovation processes to facilitate innovative client solutions and new digital media platforms. Continually work to improve and enhance the game day experience.
Ownership of matchday ticketing revenue and marketing campaigns including but not limited to creative campaign planning and execution.
Analysing and providing senior management team with key business insights to drive new customer acquisition and improve retention.
