Health and Safety Manager
Up to £70,000
Yolk Recruitment is supporting the recruitment of a Health and Safety Manager based in Bridgwater. In this senior role, you will take ownership of health, safety, and environmental management across a busy manufacturing site. You'll have the opportunity to lead safety initiatives, influence the safety culture, ensure compliance with regulations, and work closely with the senior leadership team. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and promote a strong safety culture across all manufacturing operations.
- Manage high-risk activities, machinery safety compliance, and contractor safety.
- Conduct risk assessments, develop safe systems of work, and create RAMS.
- Investigate incidents, perform root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Analyse HSE data and report on measurable improvements.
- Deliver training programs to ensure workforce competence and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with operations, engineering, and external contractors to maintain safe working practices.
Skills & Experience
- Proven Health & Safety experience in manufacturing or industrial environments.
- Experience in food or medical manufacturing is advantageous but not essential.
- Strong risk management, accident prevention, and safety culture expertise.
- Competent in RAMS, machinery safety, PPE compliance, and contractor management.
- Ability to lead incident investigations and implement effective improvements.
- Relevant qualifications (IOSH, NEBOSH, PUWER, or environmental training) desirable.
