A new opportunity has been created for a Health & Safety Officer with a background in manufacturing or engineering to join a growing business in an exciting new role.  The company is a long standing, innovative and market leading engineering business with a broad client base across a number of strong sectors. The role of Health & Safety Officer offers stability, security and the ability to add value in a business with a proven record of investment. 

 This organisation boasts the highest staff retention, an award-winning leadership team and an open culture. Reporting directly to the General Manager your role as Health & Safety Officer will be to provide a solutions-based approach identifying and suggesting improved ways of working.

 You will ensure that systems and controls are in place and adhered to in order to maintain the effective management of HS&E within the company.

As Health & Safety Officer you’ll be…..

·        Ensuring completion of Risk Assessments, PUWER assessments COSHH assessments etc are carried out and either reviewed periodically or amended due to changes

·        Ensuring Health and Environment Monitoring is carried out in accordance with company policy

·        Guaranteeing Safe Operating Procedures are completed and available to employees at point of use

·        Advising the site on Health & Safety matters arising from its day to day operations

·        Carrying out compliance auditing against legal requirements

·        Investigating all works accidents and ensuring effective actions are identified and implemented to prevent reoccurrence

·        Liaising with other Company Health & Safety personnel to ensure common safety practices

·        In conjunction with the Quality & Improvement coordinator, managing customer and Third-Party Accreditation bodies to maintain approvals

·        Advising the Management Team on any health and safety training needs.

·        Maintaining the H&S Modules within Safety Management System.

·        Liaising with Local Authorities and H&S Executive on safety and environmental matters

The experience you’ll bring to the team…

·        NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety OR NVQ Level 3 in Occupational Health & Safety

·        Competent/Qualified to carry out Risk Assessments, PUWER Assessments & COSHH assessments

·        Internal Auditor certification

·        Knowledge and Operation of Health & Safety Management Systems and ISO 45001

·        Working Knowledge of Legislation (Acts, Regulations, ACOPs & Guidance) E Knowledge of ISO 14001
