HR Support Officer

The Opportunity

Yolk Public Sector & Not-for-Profit is working with a large emergency services organisation to support them to recruit a HR Support Officer to work closely with, and under direction of, Head of HR to provide support to manage the daily activities of the HR function effectively, ensuring that professional and seamless support is provided at all times including the provision of administrative support to various Committees and Groups

 

What you’ll be doing as a HR Support Officer

§  To provide support to the Head of HR on a wide range of Human Resources issues This will include maintaining systems, ensuring the smooth day to day running of daily activities, organisation and co-ordination of meetings, distributing agendas, note-taking and disseminating information to a range of internal and external contacts

§  To draft letters, emails and reports including confidential documents as required.

§  Prepare documentation for distribution to both internal/external organisations.

§  Prepare documentation, including agendas and associated agenda items, eg for HR Policy Group, Staff Partnership Forum and other Working Groups and Committees as required

§  To receive, provide and process a wide variety of sensitive, contentious and confidential information, which should be processed professionally in line with the nature of the information in question

§  Utilise and create a range of word documents, spread sheets, databases and PowerPoint presentations and organise computer files in a logical manner. To manage diary commitments and forward planning of priorities for action

What the successful HR Support Officer will bring to the team

Certificate in Personnel Practice (or willing to work towards in 12 months and progress level of CIPD

qualification)

 

·        OCR Level 2 Diploma in Secretarial Skills or equivalent level of experience

 

·        High level of written and verbal communications skills

 

·        Excellent interpersonal skills

 

·        Ability to take accurate notes/minutes and records of actions

 

·        IT skills in Microsoft Office, internet browser, email.

 

·        Ability to prioritise and deliver high quality work effectively with good time management skills

·        Experience of working in an administrative role for a minimum of 3 years

 

·        Experience of dealing with confidential or sensitive issues

 

·        Experience of producing correspondence and reports

 

·        Ability and use of transport (car) to travel across the Trust sites and prepared to travel regionally
