Yolk Recruitment has a new opportunity for a HSQE Manager with experience supporting a remote workforce to join a market leading national security systems business with a strong record of success over a 30 year period. 

This is a senior position with responsibility for supporting a nationwide network of remote workers, leading and developing a growing HSQE team and developing to influence strategic direction of HSQE in the business.

The role is open to work in multiple areas but being Midlands based is advantageous.

 
The is what you will be doing as the HSQE Manager
  • Co-ordinating and controlling day to day HSQE arrangements.
  • Carrying out an annual documented risk assessments of all work activities.
  • Carrying out six-monthly health & safety audits within each branch.
  • Carrying out fire risk assessments.
  • Ensuring that accident reports and investigations are completed for all accidents and incidents. Where applicable reporting such matters to the Health and Safety Executive.
  • Preparing health and safety plans, risk assessments, method statements and safe working procedures as required for contract works. Providing real world advice and assistance with the aim of ensuring that the Company meets with its obligations. 
  • Ensuring adequate first aid and fire provision across the company.
  • Ensuring that procedures are in place that will ensure items of work equipment are suitable for the purpose, and are operated and maintained satisfactorily.
  • Assessing risks to health arising from use of potentially hazardous substances, identifying suitable precautions, and ensuring that control measures are used and maintained.
  • Arranging display screen equipment assessments at intervals, or when there are changes in the use of DSE equipment. Manage the provision of basic training in working with VDU’s, providing advice and assistance to DSE users as required.
  • Ensuring that all new employees receive Health and Safety inductions, and that all Health and Safety training undertaken is recorded on the employee’s training record matrix. Making recommendations to top management in regard to Health & safety related training requirements, arranging such training as necessary.
  • Carrying out health and safety questionnaires, Pre Qualification Questionnaires, Tender responses, and attend post tender or project mobilisation presentations or meetings, as maybe required by our customers.
  • Carrying out internal audits of the integrated management system and upgrading and implementing any required changes. Ensuring that the company maintains its ISO Standards.
  • Identify future Health, Safety and Environmental accreditations that would benefit the business, designing and implementing the processes required to achieve them.
  • Review of asbestos surveys, identify and log the risks notifying the relevant operations department within the company.
  • Attending client meetings as required and ensuring the timely completion of management and client reports on a monthly basis.
  • Undertaking site audits, client audits & subcontractor audits
  • UK travel required.
Experience you will bring to the team as HSQE Manager
  • Experience Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental experience
  • Previous managerial experience.
  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in a business or industry with employees working remotely in differing locations
  • Strong relationship management experience, at all levels.
  • Full UK drivers license
