Infrastructure Support Engineer (Modern Workplace) | Cardiff | On-Site | Up to £60,000
Yolk Recruitment are working with an disrupting banking institution based in Cardiff. They're investing heavily in their engineering team & are searching for experienced Infrastructure Support professionals to join their Modern Workplace team.
The modern workplace team supports all systems, software & hardware for the organisations internal user base. If successful you will be configuring & managing SaaS products (O365, Google Workplace etc) & mobile device management products such as EndPoint & Jamf. The company offer an excellent training package & natural progression for this role is to feed into their DevOps Engineering function.
The role is based on site at their office in Cardiff.
Key Responsibilities:
Be responsible for providing the best end-user experience for staff whilst maintaining security posture
Apply the benefit of your experience to challenges and have the courage and flexibility to find and choose unconventional approaches where appropriate
Work across the company to research, design, configure, implement and maintain the macOS and Windows estate, as well as SaaS products and assist in the rollout of new applications and their integrations, including product enhancement and product upgrades
Document procedures, policies, technical instructions and security practices
Maintain the reliability of the macOS and Windows platforms with rigorous testing of new releases, deployment workflows, and software updates
Scale our MDM platforms to support fast-moving teams in a fast-paced environment
Skills Required:
Experience of implementing, configuring and administering SaaS products (Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Okta, Mimecast, Slack, BetterCloud and many more!)
Understanding of networking technologies (WiFi, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPN)
Experience with MDM products (Jamf and Microsoft Endpoint Manager)
Scripting skills in some or all of Bash, Zsh, Python and Swift/Objective-C
Good problem-solving skills and an analytical mindset
Experience providing first-class end-user computing experience at scale
Worked with security teams to ensure device security and with support teams to solve complex issues
Ability to work in the office 5 days per week
