IT Operations Manager

Up to £65,000 


Yolk Recruitment are working with an expanding IT Services provider based in Cardiff who are searching for an experienced IT Operations Manager to lead their technical team. 

As IT Operations Manager you will be managing a current team of 10 engineers split across Service Desk, Infrastructure & Security. The organisation has plans to grow the team significantly over the course of the next 12 months, as Operations Manager you will take a leading role in the strategic planning of this expansion & there is an excellent career progression opportunity to move into a senior management / director level role once this growth is achieved. 

To be successful you will need a strong track record in managing techncical teams as well as a strong technical understanding & background. The organisation provide a range of technical consultancy & managed service solutions so ideally you will have storng understanding of Cloud Infrastucture (ideally Azure), IT Security (ISO27001) & Networking. If you're an experienced technical consultant with team leadership exposure looking to step into a formalised management role then they would be happy to see you. 

The role is based in Cardiff & they're currently operating flexible hybrid working. 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct management of the Infrastructure / Networks, SOC & Service Desk teams.

  • Working with senior management to design long term operations & expansion strategy. 

  • Working closely with key internal & external stakeholders to ensure project delivery is completed on time & to agreed specifications. 

  • Designing, implementing & monitoring realistic SLA's. 


Skills Required: 

  • Ideally you will have experiecne managing complex multi disciplianry technical teams (infrastructure / Networks, IT Security, Service Desk). 

  • Strong technical background & understanding, Cloud Infrastucture (ideally Azure), IT Security (ISO27001) & Networking. 

  • Excellent client facing & stakeholder managemet skills. 

  • Certifications such as Azure fundimentals & ISO27001 would be highly beneficial.
