IT Support Engineer - £31,000 - Hybrid - Pontypridd

The Opportunity
Yolk Recruitment Public Sector & Not-for-Profit team is working with a large education provider to find an IT Support Engineer to join the Application Management and Support Team within the Development and Delivery Section of IT Services.

You will have an opportunity to work with leading edge and innovative evolving technologies on a wide variety of applications and software, supporting both learning and teaching applications as well as business applications.
This is a hybrid role with a base in Pontypridd.

What you will be doing as an IT Support Engineer:
* You will help maintain application support processes, and checks that all requests for support are dealt with according to agreed procedures. Uses application management software and tools to investigate issues, collect performance statistics and create reports.
* You will perform defined tasks to monitor service delivery against service level agreements and maintains records of relevant information. Analyses service records against agreed service levels regularly to identify actions required to maintain or improve levels of service, and initiates or reports these actions.
* Designs, codes, verifies, tests, documents, amends and refactors moderately complex programs/scripts. Applies agreed standards and tools, to achieve a well-engineered result. Collaborates in reviews of work with others as appropriate.

What the IT Support Engineer will need:
* Experience of developing and/or supporting application systems using SQL-Server, MySQL or POSTGRESSQL database systems; Microsoft.NET framework (ASP.NET, C#.NET and MVC); Low code software solutions.
* Understanding or experience with source control. e.g., GIT.
* Experience of supporting and configuring applications and knowledge of Support Software and/or knowledge management solutions.
* Experience of working with Business Information and/or Learning Systems
