Learning and Development Specialist / Recruitment Trainer

Would you like to join a growing company, with a great local brand, a culture we’re proud of and an ongoing commitment to continual improvement with L&D at the core of that?

We are Yolk

With teams specialising in six core markets, we help our UK-wide client base, of SMEs to global brands, find the permanent, contract, and temporary staff they need. Our recruiters stick to the markets they know. They don’t dabble. They don’t blag. They do what they do, brilliantly, and because of the strong connections we maintain with some of the most exciting employers around, candidates get access to amazing opportunities.

Employers and candidates get the best recruitment experience. They’re understood. They're guided. They’re ahead of the rest. We are developing all the time, building relationships, making the right matches, finding that missing piece. It’s the way we do that – and do it intuitively – that defines us.

For over 10 years we’ve tried to be Brighter, Bolder, Better and we’re looking for someone to help us live that.

Due to demand from within the business and a successful start to the year we are currently seeking a Learning and Development Specialist to join our team. As a dedicated function L&D has only been going for 18 months but, despite covid, we have already become an integral part of giving all new starters a great experience and helping the business to continue to further its strategy and initiatives.

Whilst we have come far already, we’ve a long way to go and we’re looking for the right person to help us along that journey, as well as advancing their story too.

This is what you’ll be doing

Reporting to the Head of L & D, activities will include;

  • Running remote sessions, using MS Teams, as well as Classroom based sessions in our specially designed training room

  • Conducting Call Review sessions with staff, using Cloudcall

  • Providing systems training on a variety of platforms including Bullhorn, Cloudcall, LinkedIn and MS Teams

  • Providing follow up, review sessions to ensure training has been effectively implemented

  • Improving current sessions and supporting materials

  • Writing new training sessions

  • Creating “engaging” presentations to back up the material

  • Devising ways to make training interactive

  • Following up on training actions and outcomes

  • Working with managers and consultants to assess training needs

  • Helping to create development plans for all individuals

  • Providing “systems training support”

  • Working with new starters to ensure all “new starter activities” are completed

  • Looking at stats and ratios to identify issues and weaknesses at both an individual and company level

The experience you’ll bring to the team

Ideally, you’ll have some experience of training, coaching or mentoring in a recruitment role, but if not, don’t worry, we’d like to think we’d be able to train you.

What you will need is:

  • At least a couple of years Recruitment Experience

  • Experience of Sales, 360 Recruitment and a professional industry sector

  • A quality centred approach

  • Good written and verbal communication skills

  • Confident presenting to an audience

  • At least some level of organisational and administrative ability

  • Comfortable using IT systems (e.g ATS/CRM systems, MS Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint (or other presentation tools, cloud-based phone systems, LinkedIn Recruiter. You don’t need to have used them all or be an expert, but you should be happy to learn.

  • Quick to learn and confident researching ideas

  • A willingness to embrace and teach our values of Bright, Bold, Better

If you can demonstrate that little bit extra, of having written and delivered training before, then great. If not, let us know why you’d like to be involved in training and what you are good at, recruitment-wise, where you think you could show others a better way to do things.

What you’ll get in return

You will be joining a new function that is growing alongside Yolk and get to be part of seeing that develop. You will get the freedom to try new things and bring ideas to the table as well as a number of work perks including social events (when the world allows us to do them properly again), an annual trip for all (assuming we hit target – but why wouldn’t we?) as well as a split between office and home working.

If you would like to apply, then please let us know why you’re interested and what you think you could add and a little about what you’ve done. If you’d prefer, feel free to call first if you wanted an informal chat.
