Yolk Recruitment are working closely with a leading regional law firm to hire a Legal Secretary to come and join their team in Newport.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Receptionist or Administrator looking for a new career within a well-established law firm.

What you will be doing

As a Legal Secretary you will be required to support all teams in the business with administrative duties.
You will also:

  • Undertake all Secretarial Responsibilities in the office to include letters, documents, memos

  • To take messages in absence of Fee Earner

  • To update case management system as required

  • To requisition payments and bills as requested by Fee Earners

  • Attend meetings if required and take notes.

  • Answer incoming calls if necessary

  • Cover Reception as necessary

The experience you’ll bring to the team
As a passionate Legal Secretary, you’ll need to have previous experience working as a secretary or experience within a similar role, alongside:

  • A friendly and welcoming manner

  • Excellent communication skills with people at all levels

  • Excellent IT skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office

  • Fantastic organisation and administrative skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to prioritise own workload

  • Self-motivated and the ability to multitask whilst working in a fast-paced environment

  • Enthusiasm and commitment

  • General office admin skills

And this is what you’ll get in return
As a legal secretary you will receive a salary of £21k to £22k depending on experience. Working hours are Monday to Friday 09:00 – 17:30. You will also receive:
