The Opportunity

Yolk has partnered with one of the biggest employers in Wales which provides essential public services to recruit 2 Litigation Collectors. These are all permanent opportunities which will be based at home predominantly with 1 day a week in the office with the team.

What you’ll be doing

As a Litigation Collector you will be:

Administering debt accounts through the litigation process in accordance with the policy & procedures in place whilst also handling customer interactions to maximise cash and to secure debt and ensure recovery action is appropriate to the customer’s circumstances. This will include:

  • Completing the checks in accordance with the litigation criteria to select accounts that are suitable to be taken through the Civil Court Claims procedures.
  • Reviewing and taking action on accounts awaiting enforcement, selecting the most appropriate route for recovery action based on current criteria (taking account of the customer’s ability to pay and identifying any possible vulnerability issues), company debt collection processes and account information.
  • Monitoring and progressing cases through the enforcement process ensuring that all activities are completed in the required timelines and conform to court rules.
  • Ensuring all systems and tracking spreadsheets are updated accurately on a timely basis with actions, and contacts with customer and third parties.
  • Discussing next actions, payment plans and settlements with customers and their agents, both proactively (via the dialler or manually) throughout the litigation process in accordance with agreed debt collection process and where appropriate, via inbound contacts.
  • Referring more non-standard/more complex scenarios to the Litigation Officers or Company solicitor for guidance.
  • Ensuring mail is responded to appropriately and within the company guidelines, and court forms are submitted to courts and relevant parties within the appropriate timescales.
  • Assisting in the maintenance of daily reporting and visual management requirements, ensuring information is provided promptly and accurately as required.
  • Monitoring the Litigation Enquiries inbox, answering general queries and referring emails that required a more detailed response to a relevant colleague on a daily basis. Ensuring systems are updated appropriately.

  • Understanding of the collection process.
  • Demonstrable organisation skills and the ability to prioritise workload effectively to meet deadlines.
  • High levels of attention to detail and accuracy.
