Yolk Recruitment is currently partnering with a highly regarded food manufacturing company to fill the position of Maintenance Engineer. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a brand-new state of the art facility where you will play a key role in the site's development.

Position: Maintenance Engineer

Salary: Circa £40,000

As the Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the site and facilities.

Responsibilities:

  1. Performs routine maintenance tasks and inspections on production machinery to identify and address potential issues before they escalate.
  2. Responds promptly to equipment breakdowns, diagnoses faults, and implements effective solutions to minimise downtime.
  3. Collaborates with the production team to prioritise maintenance needs and schedule repairs to avoid disruptions to the manufacturing process.
  4. Maintains accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and spare parts inventory.
  5. Assists in the installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment.
  6. Conducts safety assessments and ensures compliance with health and safety regulations.
  7. Participates in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall equipment reliability and efficiency.
  8. Provides technical support and training to production staff on equipment operation and maintenance best practices.

Requirements:

  1. Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer in a manufacturing environment.
  2. Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  3. Familiarity with PLC systems and automated machinery.
  4. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  5. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  6. Relevant technical qualification in engineering or a related field.
